The gardening manual was written by Trish Penny with co-authors Ember Ayala and Celeste Hefti, and with additional contributions from Blake Lineweaver.
The gardening manual was a project of the Growing Resilience Community-Based Action research project conducted in Wyomingโs Wind River Indian Reservation. Included in the gardening manual is information which is specific to gardening in Wyoming. The gardening manual is designed for beginner- and intermediate-level gardeners and includes information on useful tools, tips on amending soil, choosing your seeds, planting companions, insects, common weeds, proper harvesting techniques, and so much more. There are also a variety of colorful Vegetable Cheat Sheets, which provide step-by-step guides to growing specific crops in Wyoming.
Funding for this project comes in part from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (8 P20 GM 103432-12) of the National Institutes of Health.
