MOBILE FOOD MARKET
What Does the Mobile Market Do?
It's a grocery store on wheels, but better! The Mobile Market stocks fresh, high-quality, healthy items like fruits, vegetables, and dry goods and makes them available in rural communities without grocery store access. All of this on a choose-your-own price system to accommodate different budget needs!

Wyoming is known for its beautiful frontier, open lands, and long winters. This reality brings fewer stores within a convenient and feasible distance, a shorter growing season, road closures due to weather resulting in limited deliveries of produce and food shortages. Feeding Laramie Valley’s Mobile Market aims to increase healthy and fresh food access for all members of the Albany County community through traveling sales. Our Mobile Market operates sometimes out of a charming, retired Bluebird school bus and sometimes farmers market-style, which makes it possible for us to travel to our locations in Centennial, Woods Landing, Rock River, West Laramie, and Ivinson Memorial Hospital. Each week our bus is filled with a selection of staple foods like fresh produce, protein options, and bulk dry goods. With the help of our team, volunteers, our community, and our partnership with Big Hollow Food Co-Op, the renovation of the bus is complete and we are now fulfilling our plan to sell affordable healthy food around the county.

This social venture is designed as a retail sales outlet, engaging us in economic, jobs, and career development to help alleviate poverty and health and wellness disparities in our community. Each purchase will help support Feeding Laramie Valley's programs that are creating sustainable local food production and increased healthy food access for everyone in Albany County, including through programs like Shares and Kids Out to Lunch.

What We've Accomplished So Far....
After two years of retro-fitting our bus, we have finished with the renovation stage of the project and have moved to launching our traveling sales throughout Albany County. Our renovations included painting the interior and exterior, reupholstering seats, installing new flooring, fixing windows, overcoming mechanical challenges, building a shelving and plumbing system, as well as outfitting the space with refrigerators, a hand sink, and a bulk food dispenser. All of this hard work has turned our old school bus into a beautiful grocery store on wheels!
We currently sell fresh fruits and veggies like apples, pears, berries, onions, potatoes, peppers, leafy greens, and many other options on a choose-your-own price system. In addition, we sell dry goods like flour, rolled oats, rice, and spices, and we are soon to sell dairy products, meats, and other protein options. We've also begun to connect with gardeners, homesteaders, and entrepreneurs as we expand our relationships with local vendors to offer products for sale at the Feeding Laramie Valley Mobile Market.
