Feeding Laramie Valley Plans on Growing More Than Ever in 2018

February 23, 2018

Thus far in 2018, we have welcomed two new AmeriCorps VISTAs to our team and tripled the number of people in our FLV Shares program! We are busy preparing our indoor grow tent for plant starts and have partnered with a UWyo Sustainability Class to map community and campus food access in Albany County.

As we begin to plan for summer– Kids Out to Lunch, Gardens for Health and Healing, and our summer FLV Shares program– we are looking to understand the gap in Albany County of people working multiple jobs, working in the service industry, and still living with poverty and unable to purchase sufficient fresh fruits and vegetables for their families.

In 2018, we will be growing more food than ever before, all of which will be shared throughout our community. We can’t do it alone though! We are asking our neighbors and friends to join us this year as we grow in the direction of sustainable food security and equity.

Remember that gorgeous Toyota Tundra that was donated to us last fall? We are finally ready to bring color and life to the truck through our fundraising efforts!

How is this going to work? A donation of just $25-$49 gets your first name stenciled on the truck. With a donation of $50 and up, choose from having your full name, the name of your business, or your business logo on the truck. Other perks include one free use of the truck (with an FLV staff driver) and one free gardening service by our staff.

It’s easy to be part of these FLV community efforts: Your generous donation can be made online, by mailed check or delivered in person to our office in Labonte Park.
