FORT SANDERS BUILDING
Feeding Laramie Valley Headquarters
Feeding Laramie Valley calls a historic building in LaBonte Park home. Originally built in 1886 as the Commander's quarters for Fort Sanders to defend settlers against the regional Native American population, the building has gone through many tenants in the intervening century and a half.
Previous to becoming the headquarters for FLV, the Fort Sanders building was a community center, offices for the Laramie Department of Parks and Recreation, and the Wyoming Children's Museum and Nature Center.
The building is now home to two hoop houses, several raised community garden beds, a commercial kitchen, enclosed garden space, the Foster Grandparents program, and FLV staff offices.
